Full Slime Seas race breakdown — Human through Dragonborn, roll rates, and which races to keep or reroll.
Slime Seas has nine passive races rolled separately from your weapon mastery. Races grant percentage bonuses to specific masteries, movement, HP, cooldown speed, and other stats — they do not change your character model's combat animations.
You roll a race at character creation and can reroll using race reroll items from codes, quests, or the in-game shop. Each reroll spins the gacha table independently — there is no documented pity system in Slime Seas as of July 2026.
Pairing matters more than tier label. A Legendary race that penalizes your mastery — Shadowborn on Greatsword (-50% GS damage) — is worse than a Rare race that matches. Pick your mastery first, then reroll with purpose.
See the tier list for ranked picks, the codes page for free reroll items, and the wiki races database for quick stat lookup.
Slime Seas races split across five rarity tiers with dramatically different roll rates. Human defaults at 48% — nearly half of all spins. Legendary races (Dragonborn, Shadowborn) each roll at 0.25%, meaning roughly 400 spins on average for one Legendary hit.
Fabled races (Lunarian, Djinn) sit at 2% each — about 50 spins expected per Fabled. Rare (Elf, Oni) lands at 6–7.5%. Uncommon (Fishman, Skypiean) appears at 16–18% each. Any Uncommon beats Human; stop rerolling at Rare if it matches your mastery during early Slime Seas progression.
Expected hit chance scales with stockpiled rerolls: five spins give roughly 9.6% chance at a 2% Fabled race. Plan reroll sessions after code redemptions, not one spin at a time.
| Rarity | Races | Roll % | Tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Legendary | Dragonborn, Shadowborn | 0.25% each | S |
| Fabled | Lunarian, Djinn | 2% each | A |
| Rare | Elf, Oni | 6–7.5% | B |
| Uncommon | Fishman, Skypiean | 16–18% | C |
| Common | Human | 48% | D |
Dragonborn is the most flexible Legendary in Slime Seas. Stats: +15% Skill Cooldown Speed, +25% Max Health, +20% Scythe Damage, +20% Greatsword Damage, +10% Fire Damage. No negative modifiers — works for Scythe, Greatsword, and hybrid builds. Best generalist race for players who want one keeper roll across all content.
Shadowborn is the Katana specialist. Stats: +5% Lifesteal, +35% Katana Damage, +40% Dash Distance, +15% Movement Speed, -25% Max Health, -50% Greatsword and Scythe Damage. Highest Katana burst in Slime Seas PvE and PvP, but the HP penalty and weapon lock make it a trap for flexible players.
If you roll Shadowborn before picking a mastery, do not keep it unless you commit to Katana permanently. If you roll Dragonborn, any mastery works — prioritize Scythe or Greatsword for maximum stat overlap.
| Race | Tier | Key buffs | Best mastery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dragonborn | S | +15% CDR, +25% HP, +20% GS/Scythe | Scythe / Greatsword |
| Shadowborn | S* | +35% Katana, +5% Lifesteal, -25% HP | Katana only |

Lunarian (Fabled, 2%): +10% Movement Speed, +10% Max Health, +20% Katana Damage, +10% Fire Damage. Premium Katana race with mobility and survivability — the safer Fabled pick before gambling on Shadowborn.
Djinn (Fabled, 2%): +15% Skill Cooldown Speed, +20% Scythe Damage, +25% Dash Distance. Top Scythe race outside Legendary tier. Extended dash makes PvP grab combos easier in Slime Seas sea battles.
Elf (Rare, 6–7.5%): +10% Skill Cooldown Speed, +10% Movement Speed, +10% Katana Damage. Balanced offensive kit — best Rare Katana pick if Fabled rerolls fail.
Oni (Rare, 6–7.5%): +15% Max Health, +20% Greatsword Damage, -5% Movement Speed. Best Rare Greatsword race. Slight speed penalty is negligible for GS swing timing.
Fishman (Uncommon, 16–18%): +10% Greatsword Damage plus swim speed bonus. Placeholder for Greatsword mains rerolling toward Oni or Dragonborn. Usable through Zone 1 Slime Seas content.
Skypiean (Uncommon, 16–18%): +10% Katana Damage, +10% Movement Speed. Early Katana option with mobility — upgrade to Elf or Lunarian when rerolls allow.
Human (Common, 48%): +5% XP only. Zero combat bonuses. Reroll immediately after picking your mastery — the XP boost does nothing once you approach level cap content at Sovereign's End.

Katana mains in Slime Seas: Shadowborn (S) for max burst → Lunarian (A) for safer hybrid → Elf (B) for Rare budget → Skypiean (C) as early placeholder. Never use Shadowborn if you might switch to Greatsword.
Greatsword mains: Dragonborn (S) endgame → Oni (B) early-mid → Fishman (C) placeholder. Dragonborn's +20% GS and +25% HP with no penalties beats every other GS race.
Scythe mains: Dragonborn (S) for dual flexibility → Djinn (A) for dash and CDR. Shadowborn is a hard avoid — the -50% Scythe penalty destroys your damage.
Berserker mains (Greatsword stance gamepass): Same as Greatsword — Oni early, Dragonborn endgame.
| Mastery | S-tier | A-tier | B-tier | Never use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Katana | Shadowborn | Lunarian | Elf | Shadowborn on GS/Scythe |
| Greatsword | Dragonborn | — | Oni | Shadowborn |
| Scythe | Dragonborn | Djinn | — | Shadowborn |
| Berserker | Dragonborn | — | Oni | Shadowborn |
Redeem Slime Seas codes for race reroll items — LIKES25K currently grants ten spins. Open your inventory, use the reroll item, and accept or reject the result. Each code redemption works once per Roblox account.
Reroll strategy by progression phase: Phase 1 — ditch Human, keep any Uncommon+ matching mastery. Phase 2 — chase Fabled (Lunarian or Djinn) with code stockpile. Phase 3 — push Legendary (Dragonborn or Shadowborn) only after level 65+ when gear and mastery are permanent.
Do not buy Robux spins until Phase 3. Code rerolls and in-game rewards cover Phases 1 and 2 for most Slime Seas players. See the builds guide after landing a keeper race.
Nine — Human, Skypiean, Fishman, Elf, Oni, Lunarian, Djinn, Dragonborn, and Shadowborn across five rarity tiers.
Dragonborn for flexible Scythe/Greatsword builds. Shadowborn for dedicated Katana. Lunarian for safer Katana PvE. There is no single best — match your mastery.
0.25% per spin — roughly 400 average spins for one Legendary hit. Five code rerolls give about 1.24% cumulative chance.
No. Human only gives +5% XP with no combat stats. Reroll immediately using code items.
After picking your permanent mastery. Reroll Human first, stop at Rare if it matches, then chase Fabled and Legendary with code stockpiles.
Only for permanent Katana mains who accept -25% HP and -50% Greatsword/Scythe penalties. Flexible players should reroll it.
Redeem codes in the Shop menu, quest rewards, and in-game events. LIKES25K is the best current source with ten rerolls.
